Fine art school portraits in Skagit County

My goal is to provide a custom, boutique experience to all families attending the schools who have chosen Courtney Holcomb Photography to photograph their students.

I aim to capture the essence of the children in front of the camera. I will not force a smile. No awkward poses or faces- just the authentic child. The results are genuine and timeless portraits that are far from the traditional (and dare I say somewhat cheesy) photos we have become accustomed to with unflattering, busy backgrounds.  My assistant and I provide a light experience for your children and take pride in providing an environment where the kids can relax and be themselves.

FAQ

Do you provide class photos?

Absolutely.

What time of year can we do this?

Anytime during the academic school year.

Is this expensive?

Rates are competitive rates and nothing is due up front, all profit is made from ordering. We offer a variety of collections and a-la-carte products to fit everyone's needs. Sample sheet here. (*please note, prices are subject to change).

How many kids can you accomodate?

So far, we have served groups of 30 to 375, with kids ages 0-18.

How does this work?

I will provide info you can share with your parents to help them prepare and know what to expect from picture day.

Each child will be provided 2-5 images in a secure online school gallery (sorted by classes), presented in both color and black and white. The family may chose the photos they want printed, as opposed to having a pose chosen for them.

I handle any questions from parents and families and am willing to work with schools to provide custom services that fit your unique needs.

How long is turnaround?

Prints are ordered online and delivered directly to the school within four weeks of picture day.

Do we get images for our yearbook?

I will provide the school with all high resolution digital files to use for yearbooks, website, school advertising, school IDs, or however the school wishes to use the images.

What about the background?

My favorite backgrounds is a clean, minimal, classic, & simple black. I feel this highlights the child's personality without distractions. White is also an option.

Some schools are outdoor/natural minded & prefer a woodsy background.

What is the difference between you and typical school photos?
  1. Children are encouraged to be authentic & let their individual personality shine through.
  2. The simple black backdrop ensures that each photo remains timeless & classic
  3. Sibling photos!
  4. We capture 2+ photos of each child and present them in both black & white
Can this be a fundraiser?

Absolutely. Message me to chat how I can serve you through school photography and other options.
